Water Slide Fun
For youth night the leaders set up a great water slide at the local park. The boys slid for a good hour on old advertising banners. Great recycled fun!
Staycation - Monday
Janey kicked off the week with family Fun O'Limpiks. She created fun challenges for us like hula hoop and jump rope contests, jelly bean counting, horseshoes, and other fun contests. Then we all cooled off with a water fight!
O'Limpicks Awards Ceremony at Sub Zero Ice Cream
Finished the night with a fun street fireworks show!
Staycation - Tuesday
Steve L. chose our Tuesday Staycation activity - Boondocks. We had never been as a family and we had a lot of fun! Bumper boats, go carts, mini golf, arcade games, all you can eat pizza and of course lots of laser tag!
Staycation - Wednesday
4th of July Fun! We started at the Bishops breakfast and parade at Grandma and Grandpa's ward. It's probably the last year Grandpa will be Bishop, so we wanted to be sure to see him cooking up breakfast for the whole ward.
We went from an incredible breakfast to an amazing bbq lunch at our other Grandparents. We had so much fun eating, playing games and chilling. So much fun that we forgot to pull out the camera. Too bad!
Whitney started her new job as a concessions manager at the stadium. She worked the Stadium of Fire and had a lot of fun. She didn't clock out till 1:30 in the morning however!
Staycation - Thursday
Bad weather changed our Thursday plans. Dad originally wanted to go on a birding hike to a lake, but we chose to ride trax downtown instead. We toured the Church Family History Museum, the Church Art Museum, and took the kids to the City Creek Center. We also played at the Planetarium.
Daniel chose to have an ice cream party that night and a movie on Saturday. Forgot to take pictures however.
Staycation - Friday
Mom chose the Friday day activity. What I really wanted to do was spend the day at the beach (a real ocean beach) with a good novel. But, I settled for a water park instead. We had fun in the warm lazy river and the great slides.
The kids got to try out instruments at the instrument petting zoo!
Staycation - Saturday
Ellie selected the activity for our final day of staycation. She chose craw fishing at Strawberry Reservoir. Heavy rain started as we drove up, but that didn't deter Dad! In New Zealand we learned that rain just makes an outdoor activity more of an adventure! We threw most of the craw fish back, but keep enough to cook right at the beach. Yum!
