The Klondike Derby

The Klondike derby is a sled race up and down a really steep hill. It’s really tiring but it was fun. One person rode in the sled, one person pushed and one person pulled and we all took turns doing each part. We did a lot of activities such as building an emergency shelter, starting a fire, making a stretcher (I was happy because I got to ride in it) and a lot of other things. We also had lunch and it tasted good. We spent the night in a cabin which was warm, but it was cold (although warmer than we expected) and wet outside. We had fun!

The Constitution Bowl

This week I had the opportunity to participate in the constitution bowl. It a buzzer-game competition and the questions are about the American Constitution. Their are four people on each team and the winners get different scholarships to a event called the Constitutional Convention. There where four separate teams that we where competing against, so five teams in all. My team won first place! Our team captain/coach/trainer was Natalie. She was amazing! She went through all the questions and picked out the fewest words you could identify the questions by. She was awesome and we all had a good time. I can’t wait to go next year!
